August 1 - HOLY AND REVEREND IS HIS NAME

The Bible says, “No man has seen God at any time.” But, have you ever thought about what you would do -or say if you should suddenly realize you were in His very presence? It’s a sobering thought, isn’t it.

August 8 - GREAT IS OUR GOD!

Just how great is our God? Is He greater than your hero or role model? Greater than George Washington or the current President of the United States? The Scripture says, “He is not a man.” And He asks, “Where is my honor? Where is my reverence?”

August 15 - WORSHIP WITH REVERENCE AND AWE

Jesus said, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” But does God care how we worship Him? Whether our worship is characterized with reverence and awe? In Spirit and in truth?” What does all that mean? Are these “salvation issues?”

August 22 - THE GOODNESS AND SEVERITY OF GOD

Historically, American preaching has focused on the church, not on God. How long has it been since you heard a sermon about God? Was it about His goodness or His severity? Can your God be both good and severe?

August 29 - GOD, WHOSE VOICE SHAKES HEAVEN AND EARTH

The widespread casualness with which people treat God, even in worshiping assemblies, may well be the primary and central cause for the deterioration of our American morality. In the Old Testament era, nations who were disrespectful to God and His Word, went down in shame and defeat.
